Black Friday

DPP Published in Ask DPP by DPP | Comment (0)

Today is the official start off the holiday shopping season. A lot of you may have been up early today to get so called "blockbuster" deals. I say Black Friday is overrated. Being a former worker at Best Buy, I hated Black Friday. I hated being up at 3 a.m. smiling for no good customers looking for the hook up. And what about the people that show up around noon asking for a door buster...Nigga what the hell is wrong with you, you really think that insignia laptop dvd gone be available???

People I tell you, anyway, glad i'm not doing that anymore. Now I just sleep like normal people.

New Release Tuesday

DPP Published in musicLudacriskanyehip hopAsk DPP by DPP | Comment (1)

Today is a pretty big day in the hip hop world. Two major artists' albums are dropping today.

The first album is Kanye West's 808s and Heartbreak. Highly anticipated album from Kanye. Puts you in the mindset of a Phil Collins' album. I enjoyed listening. It was diffrerent. I recommend the track, "Streetlights". That is my favorite.

The second album is Ludacris's "Theatre of the Mind". This is Luda's 6th album and he delivers yet again. I enjoyed this album so much that its hard to name a favorite track. You can definitely press play and listen from beginning to end without complaint. I recommend the track, "Wake Up". Very well done.

Need a good laugh?

DPP Published in Katt WilliamsAsk DPP by DPP | Comment (0)

I suggest watching the new Katt Williams DVD, "Its Pimpin Pimpin". It was very entertaining and funny. Its about 2 hours of stand up and its worth every minute. One of my favorite moments of the DVD was when he talked about taking care of your "franchise" player. That's all im gone say, you have to hear it for yourself. I highly recommend this DVD though.

Gas Is Cheap, Lets Celebrate!

Beezy Published in st. louissocietyRadio RoperformancesMoney Mattersgas pricesBeezy by Beezy | Comment (0)

gas pricesYes gas is cheap once again, i havent seen these prices since i was startin college in 2000. I filled up my tank the day before yesterday at about $1.70 a gallon, and the pump stopped at $28! i was dumbfounded.  I wanted to go inside and bitch slap the gas attendant for making me so happy. lol

This mornin i heard on the news that gas was around $1.40 at a quicktrip somewhere in St. Louis and people was waiting in long lines to try to fill up as if it was a 2hr sale. But thats the real question... HOW LONG WILL THIS LAST? The prices aren't going to keep going down forever..  I suspect most people dont even want to think about it - they just want to make sure they get the gas cheap while it lasts. Niggaz can finally dust off the escalade and start rollin around the streets, and flossin with no place to go.  People will start getting mid or high grade gas again because they can finally afford to put it in their luxury car.  Parents all over the country wont mind wasting gas on their 16yr olds teaching them how to drive...

Everybodys happy, lets just throw a party at the gas station and celebrate, Radio Ro can headline a performance. lol

Magazines...What happened to there credibility?

DPP Published in musicmagazineship hopAsk DPP by DPP | Comment (1)

I write this on the tail end of the Vibe cover with Plies stating, "The Future of Rap".....WTF???

Magazines now-a-days do not focus on the art of music anymore, they just focus on controversy and selling copies at the expense of credibility. Vibe is not the magazine, the Source lost its credibility when owner/rapper started popping off about Eminem. Even XXL, though probably the better of the previous mentioned, even cators to the Eminem's and 50 cents 's of the industry.

I just wish magazines would focus on the facts and breaking new artists rather than cycling articles of their favorite artists over and over.

Get That Money!

Beezy Published in rags to richesplazaincMoney MattersHard Workgoalsbusinessblack presidentBeezy by Beezy | Comment (0)

MoneyI always end up catching tv shows, that show stories of people that came from nothing and are wealthy now. I can picture myself in shows like that, describing my pitfalls and finally making it on top. I always ask myself how did they do it? How did they become so lucky to sieze that opportunity to capitalize off of it? I'm a business minded person, i just need to jump on an opportunity, or an idea, and just grind.

I hear time and time again, that this is America, and life is what you make it. and really i believe that, especially seein foreigners come over here broke, and then they are super rich before they retire, people from poor families, or no education owning yahts, and the most recent example... a black president... mind blowing...  It doesnt matter if you are in poverty, you can still make it, granted... it may take longer, or be more harder, but when you do make it, you are stronger for it and you appreciate it so much more.

I'm focused on making money, and im sure i will, i just dont know how exactly yet. But one things for sure, its going to happen and i will make moves as it multiplies. I aint gonna be one of those "from rags to riches to rags" I can't even ask myself "what would i do with a million dollars?" I dont tease myself with that shit, I think realistic, check it: If i was just fortunate enough to come across even $50,000 it would only grow from there... Going strait in to investing and making power moves baby. Come see my millions in 5-10 years.

I will get this money... whether its behind a mic, wearin a hoodie, or in an office building with suits ties and briefcases.

What inspires you to write?

DPP Published in Ask DPP by DPP | Comment (0)

The world we live in inspires me to write. Everyday something new happens, weather good or bad, that shapes a situation in a way uniquely to that instance. I try to achieve the same thing with my verses. I try to take the listener on a journey through my thought process so they can see situations in a different light from what they previously believed was right or wrong.I just let my lyrics challenge my listeners. You can agree or disagree but its the interaction and conversations that spark from my verses that keep me writing.

Changing the Game

DPP Published in musickanyehip hop808s and Heartbreak by DPP | Comment (1)

I have been listening to a lot of the songs off of Kanye West's new album "808s and Heartbreaks" and I must say he is definitely creating his own lane. The album is very personal yet deals with a lot of the insecurities in the world today. Kanye is really connecting to all music lovers and not type casting himself into one category. If you are a fan of music, this is the album for you.

Some music listeners are a trip...

DPP Published in musichip hop by DPP | Comment (0)

I have been reading various comments on various websites talking about how they are tired of the same thing. I see their point but there are some artists doing music outside the norm and they get deemed wack for trying something different.

Like kanye's new album, he is using the vocoder throughout the whole album and singing. He is stepping outside the box, testing his limits. a lot of people are ridiculing him for that...why? Isnt that what you all asks for...something different...i dont get people.

I know T-Pain started the big vocoder uses for THIS generation...i know roger and zapp are the originators....but T-Pain got ridiculed in the beginning as well for doing a different style of music and unconventional topics.

I'm just saying, we can agree to disagree on alot of music but dont stimey the artists by killing their creativity by bashing them when they try something new. The best way to show your disapproval is to just not support those artists, dont bad mouth them for trying new things.

WWE vs TNA?

DPP Published in WWEWrestlingTNA by DPP | Comment (0)

I am aHUGE wrestling fan so this is a common discussion in some of my circles. WWE would be the typical answer for most here and there wrestling fans but do not sleep on TNA.

I am a big WWE fan because of the tradition that follows the brand but I do like the youth and fresh ideas that TNA brings to the table. The X-Division alone is a major reason to watch TNA over the WWE. The young talent that TNA has put together is steps above the WWEs. TNA also has a solid veteran base to go with the young guys and their new angle piting the vets against the young guys is very entertaining.

I personally still would pick the WWE over TNA based off experience and their marketing saavy but TNA is on the way to something just as big. I say check them both out and you be the judge.
