Jay hatin?

It's been said that Jay-Z is the reason we didn't see Chris Brown on stage at the BET Awards.

At tonight's BET Awards, a collection of artists came together to commemorate Michael Jackson's career and the legacy he left behind. Rumor has it that Chris Brown was among those who were to take part in the tribute, but was pulled at the last minute.

The rumor was fueled by one of Chris Brown's dancers, who tweeted "Jay-Z is mad childish. Never keep a person from paying there respect."

The award show's producer, Ron Weisner, told Billboard.com, "A day and a half ago, we had one show and today we have a whole other show. Overnight, literally, it changed. The show was completely rewritten, we booked additional people - we're trying to address a very unfortunate situation."

"It's something we had to deal with at the very last minute," Weisner added. "I wish we didn't have to, but it's just a fact of life."

Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson's father, made an appearance at the awards show, saying, "I just wish he could be here to celebrate himself. Sadly, he's not here, so I'm here to celebrate for him."

Sources say that while he wants to resolve the situation, he will plead not guilty. Brown's attorney Mark Geragos did not return any calls for comments.

The couple seemed to reconcile in late February. They reunited on a trip to Miami. A few weeks ago the couple split and decided to throw in the towel.

It's been said that Rihanna will testify against Brown. He's due in court on Monday, April 6.

Good luck to the both of them...

Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted at the Twenty One club in Dubland, Ireland.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Chris Brown has been charged with a felony after an alleged violent incident on Saturday night, Access Hollywood has learned.

Earlier on Sunday, the LAPD was investigating Brown for assault following an alleged domestic violence felony battery against a woman reported to be the singer's girlfriend, Rihanna , at 12:30 AM on Sunday in Los Angeles. Both Brown and Rihanna pulled out of Sunday evening's Grammy Awards before the ceremony.

Brown has turned himself in on Sunday evening, the LAPD confirmed to Access. According to his booking sheet, he is currently being held on a $50,000 bail under a felony charge.

According to the LA Times, the alleged assault was against Rihanna , though the LAPD would not confirm that report.

Earlier, the LAPD confirmed to Access that the R&B singer and the woman were in a vehicle on North June St. in the Hancock Park area of LA, where the victim claims an argument occurred. Brown allegedly stopped the car and the woman suffered "visible injuries" and identified the singer as her attacker.

"Mr Brown is a suspect that we are looking for... we would definitely like to speak with him," a spokesperson for the LAPD told Access on Sunday evening.

When contacted by Access on Sunday night, a rep for Rihanna said that the singer was "well."

" Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support," the rep said.

A rep for Chris Brown did not return calls from Access.

"We have just been informed that Rihanna will not be attending tonight's 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards," a Grammy rep confirmed to Access late Sunday afternoon. "We're sorry she is unable to join us this evening."

The rep issued a similar statement regarding Brown later in the evening.

"We have just been informed that Chris Brown will not be attending tonight's 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards. We're sorry he is unable to join us this evening," the rep told Access.

On Saturday evening, the music couple walked the red carpet separately at the Grammy Salute to Industry Icons honoring Clive Davis at the Beverly Hilton, and were spotted smiling together inside the party.

Rihanna was set to perform and was nominated for three Grammys, while Brown was up for two awards at the ceremony.
